Node Requirements

Participating as a node operator within YOM's Decentralized Pixel Streaming Network (DePIN) requires meeting certain hardware requirements. TL;DR; you need your gaming PC + Node OS.
Regardless of the chosen software distribution, all node operators must meet the following minimum hardware specifications:
Minimum Specifications:
RAM: At least 16GB of memory. More RAM can support more concurrent connections.
Graphics Card: An Nvidia RTX series GPU to handle intensive graphic processing. Better graphics cards support more concurrent connections.
Internet Connection: A minimum upload speed of 25 Mbps is required. Higher bandwidth supports more concurrent connections.
These specifications ensure that nodes are capable of handling the demands of high-definition game streaming and rendering effectively.
For maximum ease of use, security and portability, YOM offers a preconfigured external bootable 1TB SSD with a custom implementation of Linux running our code hardcoded hardcoded inside the OS. For almost everyone, this is a plug-and-play and seamless way to get started, requiring no knowledge about Linux and provides dedicated disk capacity to stream content.
YOM issues these nodes in the form of NFTs during scheduled node sale rounds and can be redeemed to hardware when we start the public launch of the network. The base price for a node is set at $999. These nodes serve several purposes:
Market Engagement: The NFTs are marketed to attract new node operators and expand the network's capacity. This outreach helps to bolster the ecosystem and attract more participants, ultimately enhancing network resilience and efficiency.
Limiting Supply: By selling limited rounds of NFTs, we can control the supply of nodes in alignment with demand. This scarcity not only adds value to the nodes themselves but also incentivizes early adoption and participation in the network.
Revenue Generation: The sale of nodes generates revenue for the YOM Foundation. This revenue is crucial for sustaining and growing the network, as it can be reinvested to enhance infrastructure, develop new features, and expand outreach efforts. Ultimately, it contributes to the long-term sustainability and success of the YOM ecosystem.
For data centers, our alpha testers and miners with dedicated setups we provide middleware that excludes the node hardware requirements. We will reward $YRX token holders with discounts on licenses, incentivizing community engagement and rewarding those who contribute to the network's growth and stability. It fosters a sense of belonging among community members, strengthening their commitment to the ecosystem.
