Tokenomics

Now that we discussed the technical aspects, we will shift our attention to the how Digital Ledger Technologies (DLTs) are used in order to realize a commercially sustainable and open Metaverse:
  1. 1.
Fungible token protocol. We developed a native cryptographically-secure fungible protocol token (ticker symbol $YOM), which is a transferable representation of its underlying utility, i.e. the right to stream the metaverse for a single user for an hour.
  2. 2.
Non-fungible token protocol. We developed a layer on top of the Metaplex SDK for Solana that is the non-fungible token (NFT) standard across all YOM experiences but also works on all Metaplex based marketplaces within the broader Solana ecosystem.
$YOM connects supply with demand by rewarding gamers to allocate resources to stream metaverses created by creators. Thereby, over time $YOM converges to a price that is not pegged to gold or dollars, but to GPU power. $YOM by itself is solely used on the platform to facilitate an efficient (P2P) market of metaverse streaming power, and to enable new revenue models building on this. It does not in any way represent any shareholding or participation in any company or undertaking, nor will it entitle holders to any promise of fees, dividends, revenue, profits or investment returns.
The NFT protocol is used to tokenize roles, assets and memberships for the DAO. Additionally the NFT protocol is provided as a toolkit to creators who can use it in combination with the Bridge dApp to create their own structures, revenue models and systems.
The next subchapters will present in more detail how YOM facilitates new metaverse revenue models with $YOM and its monetization tools (play-to-earn / pay-for-play). We will close off this chapter with information about the token distribution. For those that do not have enough time on their hands, you can read more about the tokenomics in a summarized visual pitch-deck.
Disclaimer
$YOM is not, and not intended to be, a medium of exchange accepted by the public (or a section of the public) as payment for goods or services or for the discharge of a debt; nor is it designed or intended to be used by any person as payment for any goods or services whatsoever that are not exclusively provided by the issuer. $YOM may only be utilised on YOM, and its ownership carries no rights, express or implied, other than the right to use $YOM as a means to enable usage of and interaction within YOM.
